10 Amazing Tweaks of iPhone 12

May 30, Sunday – Stunning hidden features of the iPhone 12 which I discovered over time.

Everybody knows iPhone 12 series was a packaged launch. Similarly, the series includes Apple's latest and quickest A14 Bionic processor and iOS v14. There is a lot of buzzes going around the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro. If you are willing to purchase any of them, you should know the absolute best tweaks for your gadget to max out the phone's capacity.

I did discover some of the coolest features and would like to share them with you.

1. LED Flashy Alerts

A set sound for all alerts isn't as good as always. You can get your iPhone's LED light to flash when certain messages / calls come in. During nights I found this feature is quite appealing while your phone is either in Silent or Ringer Mode.
To Enable:
Go to Settings > Accessibility > Audio/Visual > Tap to enable "LED Flash for Alerts" &/or "Flash on Silent"

2. Silence Unknown Callers

Frustrated with spam calls? Annoying marketing calls? or any numbers that are not in your phone book.
Silence them with this feature and allow if that was a genuine call.
To Enable:
Go to Settings > Phone > Silence Unknown Callers > Tap to On/Off

3. Tap the Back

Another coolest and hidden feature of the iPhone 12 to launch specific functions, like locking the screen, taking a screenshot, enabling and disabling AssistiveTouch, etc. This feature comprises two actions under the Back Tap i.e. Double Tap and Triple Tap. You can put the functions per your choice.
To Enable:
Go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Back Tap > Double Tap & Triple Tap

4. Three-Finger Salute

People often have a habit of closing the unwanted windows running on the phone's background to free up memory. Indeed, I do have that habit of a clearing. I found this feature considerably useful. I hope this will for you too.

5. Scanning On The Go

I know, I know... many of us don't know this genuine feature by Apple until we discover the hidden gems. I used to search for the best scanning apps in the App Store but none were reliable. Ultimately, this tweak came so handily to use for day-to-day personal as well as official activities.

To Use:
  1. Long press the "Notes" App;
  2. You'll notice "Scan Document";
  3. Place your phone's camera over the documents to be scanned;
  4. It automatically detects the parameters and clicks the image into PDF format;
  5. Done!
6. Bring Up Camera Controls

Everyone loves clicking photos either still or moving and we know iPhone has the best image processing quality on the market. Whenever you bring up your camera application, the controls are regular, but when you swipe up on the camera Shooting Mode you're going to discover other hidden features. There you'll get a whole new set of controls, which keeps changing to default depending on the shooting mode you hover.

If you’re in the regular Photo Mode you’ll see a Flash along with the Night Mode option, Live Mode, etc. To change exposure, just tap on the up arrow on the top-center part of the camera screen and then slide the slider and adjust your preferences on-screen until it’s exposed the way you like.

7. Customize Your Home Screen

Apple's iOS 14 has great flexibility, and therefore you can freely customize the Home Screen of your choice on your iPhone 12 or 12 Pro by adding and modifying widgets, removing unwanted apps, and so on. For instance, you'll find my customized Home Screen of my choice beneath;

8. Hiding Photos

Very handy feature and protecting sensitive images from others in case anyone checks it. There is a perfect way to hide your private photos. Initially, you select and move them to a separate folder called "Hidden Album" under Utilities. For instance;

Finally, if you want to disable the "Hidden Album" from your Photos App. Simply, follow these steps below. Besides, it will not affect your photos in it.

To Enable/Disable:
Go to Settings > Photos > Hidden Album > Toggle to switch On/Off

9. Built-in Screen Recorder

Screen recording has become a very important task whenever we want to capture and share anything that relates to providing knowledge or information. This in-built feature has made such things possible enabling you to record and/or broadcast. For instance, a commentary video to guide somebody with the manipulation process on the phone or recording gaming videos for later broadcast on any online/ social media platforms.

Very important, make sure "Screen Recording" is listed under "Included Controls" if not, tap the green plus (+) button under "More Controls". A "Screen Recording" feature gets enabled in your Control Center.

To Enlist:
Go to Settings > Control Centre > More Controls > Spot and Tap "+" Screen Recording

10. Full Page Screenshot (**Safari Web Browser Only**)

Lengthy Webpage? Don't want to miss a single line of page?
No Problem!
As soon as you tell Siri to take the screenshot or by pressing and holding the volume up and power button, you're just a few clicks away.
  • Tap the taken screenshot at the bottom left corner of the screen
  • Hover to the top and tap "Full Page"
  • A slider appears on the right corners displaying the full webpage
  • Done!
